The best advice for new
teachers: Make friends with the custodial staff and life will always be good for you. They may be invisible to the kids, but they hear, see and
report everything. A few weeks ago, the 2nd floor custodian over-heard me “bragging” to my students about how good I use to be at tether-ball. So he brought me one!
What a pal! Honestly, I am not good at tetherball, (
never was)....But at the time, it was a pretty good analogy for electron orbits....I wasn’t sure what I would do with his gift; then I realized that we actually have a tether-ball pole in our backyard. Todd’s just been using it for his very nerdy weather station; but he was more than happy to move his virtual wind/rain gauge thingy to the roof top, leaving me with absolutely no excuses except to go out and hit the ball around and around....and around. I am not complaining, it might just be a healthy life style change that I can live with. (f
or a couple of days) Besides, It's kinda fun, and as long as my opponent is shorter than me; I can win.

Memorial day weekend in Broad Canyon with Gene, Donna, John, Lori, Todd, Sunshine, Rain, Hail, Mud and Me. When I downloaded my camera, I found photos of weird looking body parts. They are all beat-up, bruised, tired and most likely useless; but hopefully still attached to something. In the meantime enjoy these little unedited indyfilm productions. Beware world! ...Beware Dancing with the Stars (and wolves) ! ...Beware American Idol.. Beware! Just Beware! Incidentally, I really do understand why our kids refuse to camp with us anymore ;-D
